AOAA DEER HUNTERS & MOTORIZED USERS

 AOAA will be open on December 2nd to 7th & December 9th to 14th for hunting.  Eastern Reserve will be drive in and Western Reserve is walk in only.*  During this period the AOAA will be closed to motorized users.  The AOAA will be open for motorized access (RIDING) on 11/29, 30 & 12/1, 12/8. NO ATV’S, SXS’S, UTV’S, DIRT BIKES OR OTHER OHV’S ALLOWED. YOU MAY DRIVE  CAR OR TRUCK IN AND WALK TO YOUR HUNTING SPOT. NO ROAD HUNTING ALLOWED! NO DRIVES!

AOAA WALKING TRAIL WILL BE OPEN DURING THIS TIME. NO PERMIT REQUIRED.

Directions to AOAA

From Interstate 81

  • Take exit 116, PA-901 
  • Take PA-901 W
  • Follow PA-901 to Route 61 N into the town of Shamokin
  • Continue to follow 61 N until it intersects with MARKET ST / PA-125 S (At traffic light & Dunkin' Donuts)
  • Make a left onto MARKET ST / PA-125 S
  • Make a slight right onto BEAR VALLEY AVENUE / PA-125 S
  • When PA-125 S makes a hard left you stay on PA-125 S and head up the mountain.
  • You will pass through the small town of Burnside. Continue on PA-125 S to the top of the mountain. Our entrance, marked with signage, is on the left.
  • If you get to the top of the mountain do not head down the other side you've gone too far.

 

From Interstate 80

  • Take exit 224 , Danville
  • Take Rt. 54 E
  • Turn RIGHT onto PA-487 / W VALLEY AVE. Continue to follow PA-487.
  • Turn LEFT onto PA-61 S.
  • Follow PA-61 S into the town of Shamokin (DO NOT TAKE PA-225)
  • Cross the Cameron Bridge and BEAR LEFT onto Sunbury Street
  • RIGHT onto MARKET STREET / PA-125 S (At traffic light & Dunkin' Donuts)
  • Follow MARKET STREET / PA-125 S
  • Make a slight right onto BEAR VALLEY AVENUE / PA-125 S
  • When PA-125 S makes a hard left you stay on PA-125 S and head up the mountain.
